Crystalline Concrete Additives for a National Infrastructure Project
In 2022, the construction of the Green Line of the Tel Aviv Light Rail was launched, aimed at easing the city’s ongoing transportation challenges. The Chinese company leading the project selected BG Bond to support the complex waterproofing works, which required addressing groundwater issues due to the proximity to the sea and the Yarkon River. The works were carried out across three major sections in Tel Aviv—Nordau, Levinsky, and Carlebach.
As part of the excavation and diaphragm wall works, BG Bond supplied approximately 15,000 cubic meters of high-quality Kryton crystalline waterproofing concrete additive. The unique additive was cast directly into the concrete of the floors and walls, including at the joints and connections. The casting required highly complex logistical planning, as it took place in a dense and infrastructure-rich area that did not always allow for pouring at the same hours. Throughout the project, 3–4 BG Bond inspectors were consistently on site, supervising the casting works.
